Modern Chromium, Firefox, and Safari encode/decode WebP. If encode fails, pick JPEG.
How much quality do I lose?
At JPEG/WebP quality around 80 most people cannot see a difference on screen. Check the preview and size, then adjust the slider.
Are my files stored on a server?
No. Images are processed with Canvas in this browser; there is no upload request at all. Closing the tab clears memory.
