FAQ
Is under 1MB guaranteed?
Quality is lowered first; if still too big, the long edge shrinks by 15% per step until it fits. The final size is shown, and you are told if it could not fit.
How much quality do I lose?
We keep the highest quality that fits. A 12MP phone photo usually just needs slightly smaller dimensions.
PNG input?
PNG has no quality setting, so target mode saves JPEG. Transparency becomes white.
Are my files stored on a server?
No. Images are processed with Canvas in this browser; there is no upload request at all. Closing the tab clears memory.
What about iPhone HEIC photos?
HEIC is not supported. On iPhone use Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible, or share/export the photo as JPEG first.
